I'm teaching Elijah how to do dishes the fun way...
He's still ornery as usual! Crazy kid. We've been very busy. I'm doing Elijah's infusions all by myself now, with no nurse present. I've gotten 4 in a row on the first try. Yay! He's so good with it. He only cries when I initially stick him. He calls it his "bug juice" and we search his hands for "worms" to stick.
I signed him up for daycamp preschool for two weeks this summer. He's going to attend with his little friend Dylan! He will start full day preschool in November! And he will be at Quincy with me. He's been talking about it for months. I shouldn't have any trouble with him going ;)
My summer position that I waited years to get at Outdoor Ed is cut this summer...so, I'm opting not to work. Darn! That is good though, because I got accepted for a grad program to receive my ELL endorsement (English Language Learners). I will receive all tuition, materials, and final certification for free, through a grant. The best part is, the class is through KSU! We will do almost all the work on our own in small groups. It will be about 3 hours a week consisting of a video, video repsonse, journal, and a project for each course. It's a 2 1/2 year commitment, but considering it's 100% free, I'm more than willing to take my time.
The word from the principal is I will have a 2/3 combo class next year. I'm kind of excited about it. I think it will be very interesting. I'm a little worried about the vast difference between 2nd and 3rd graders...but if my 3rd graders next year are anything like this year, maybe there won't be much difference at all.
My class this year is CRAZY! There are some really bizarre children. But, that's okay, because there are only 20 1/2 days with kids left...4 weeks. Well, that's about all for now. We are keeping busy and enjoying this beautiful spring weather. Fingers crossed for some good storms later this week :)
